Letter from SPsMUN 2025 Secretary General
Honorable delegates, esteemed chairs and prestigious advisors,
On behalf of St. Paul’s School, it is with the utmost pleasure that I welcome you to SPsMUN 2025! February 21st and 22nd promise to be days filled with fruitful debates, lasting friendships, and meaningful personal growth. The leadership team is dedicated to ensuring that each of you feels at home at St. Paul’s and views this conference as an invaluable opportunity to refine your public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.
Our ultimate goal is to provide every delegate with a glimpse into the diplomatic world while igniting or strengthening a passion for the principles and ideals of MUN. Whether you are an experienced delegate or stepping into this world for the first time, I urge you to seize this opportunity - raise that placard, ask that POI, and take that chance. By the time I strike the gavel to bring this conference to a close on Saturday afternoon, I am confident that each of you will leave not only as a better delegate but also as a more conscious global citizen.
This year’s conference theme, “Shaping a Better Tomorrow is Our Priority Today,” reflects the pressing need for proactive and united action in addressing the challenges that define our era. In a rapidly changing world marked by complex challenges - ranging from climate change to social inequality, from technological innovation to geopolitical tensions - it is imperative that we act with foresight and collaboration. The theme serves as a call to action, urging us to recognize that the decisions we make today are the foundation of the future we build tomorrow. Through this theme, SPsMUN 2025 seeks to inspire delegates to harness the power of diplomacy, not merely as a tool for negotiation but as a transformative force capable of shaping policies and solutions that drive meaningful change. Let this conference be a reminder that the future is not a distant reality - it is being shaped by the choices we make today. We are the leaders of tomorrow.
The Secretariat is thrilled to offer an inclusive and dynamic environment across our nine committees, each of which have been carefully designed to foster meaningful discussions. We are eager to witness your creativity, passion, and dedication as you navigate the intricacies of international relations and policy-making.
As Secretary General, I encourage you to make the most of these two days. Engage deeply, listen actively, and don’t hesitate to step outside your comfort zone. Finally, should you have any questions or concerns leading up to or during the conference, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]. The Secretariat is here to support you in every way possible, and we are committed to ensuring that your SPsMUN experience is nothing short of extraordinary.
Sincerely,
Anna Sapoznik
Secretary General
